Bon Appetit

It's not brownie. It isn't Oreo cookies. It not chocolate pudding, chocolate cake, or chocolate Teddy Grahams. And it's definitely not peanut butter balls, fudge, or Hersey kisses. That's probably what you'd find all over my face but that's beside the topic.

It's dirt. And soil from the garden. Probably a little bit of mud. And a cheek full of rocks.
And these are pictures of his look on a good day.

Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone else find their son stuffing fist fulls of mother Earth into their mouth? Because I surely do not know where this is coming from or what the appeal is. At all.

The only thing I can determine is that it's genetic. You see, what I've decided is this is all my mom's fault. When she was a little girl she ate Rolly Polly's.

On second thought, I think I'm better off with a thick moustache of dirt limning his lips!

(But seriously, how do I make him stop? It's so unappetizing!)

I have not faced this problem yet. Yuck. He sure looks happy eatting it. Soil has iron in it. Do you think he is needing more iron? Such a cute face though. Your boys sure are handsome!

Usually when kids eat rocks, dirt, sand etc it is true what Tasha said, they are lacking in some minerals. Try a supplement for him and see if it works. Other times it is a sensory thing where they like the texture in the mouth. Talk to Erin Opfel!!! She can tell you stories too!!!! :) Also look at the attention that you give him when he has done it. Kids love reactions from parents to feed their doings! No matter what it is...I promise he will grow out of it! He is such a cute boy! I love that face full of dirt and I LOVE how you desrcibed things in your post! You always make me SMILE!!!
Love you!!!

I love little Wyatt face. I don't know about the dirt eating thing...uncharted territory for me so far. But his scar is looking good! It just looks like a scratch now! I love you!
